Mud Hero – Toronto, ON

Date: Saturday, August 22, 2026
Shift Time: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Second Harvest is partnering with Mud Hero, the largest all-Canadian obstacle series! We are looking for volunteers to help at the Toronto Mud Hero event to support in a variety of capacities, including Obstacle Supervisor, Finish Line Motivator, and Registration and Bag check.

Location: Albion Hills Conservation Area, 16500 Regional Rd 50, Caledon, ON L7E 3E7

Requirements: 20-30 volunteers needed, 16+ years of age

Feeding Our Future – Calgary

Activity: Assemble 1,000 healthy snack packs per shift for children and youth attending summer camps.

Location: 260081 Nose Creek Blvd, Rocky View County, T4A 3P5

Date: Monday August 24
Shift Time: 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.

Requirements: 15–25 volunteers needed per shift; volunteers must be 16 years of age or older.

Relish the Foodie Event – Etobicoke, ON

50/50 Sales: Want to put your sales chops to the test while supporting a great cause? Volunteers in this role will sell 50/50 tickets to attendees.  
Info Booth: Represent Second Harvest at our information booth by interacting with attendees, spreading awareness of our mission, as well as applying temporary tattoos at the Kids Station.
Photo Booth: Volunteers will support the photo booth area

Dates and Times:

• Friday, September 18: 4:45 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
• Saturday, September 19: 10:45 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. OR 3:45 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.  
• Sunday, September 20: 10:45 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. OR 2:45 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Key requirements:

• Age minimum: 18 + years of age
• Good communication skills
• Flexible and adaptable  
• Capable of working under pressure
• Professional and organized

Food Collections – Toronto, ON

1. Sysco Food Show
   Date:  Tuesday, September 22
   Location: Toronto Congress Centre, South Building, Hall D, 650 Dixon Road, Etobicoke, ON M9W 1J1
   Volunteer Shift Time: 2:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. (approximately)
   # of Volunteers: 3-4 volunteers
   Activity: Collecting surplus food donations from vendor booths at the end of the show.

2. CHFA Show
   Date: Sunday, September 27
   Location: Exhibition Place, 100 Princes' Blvd, Toronto ON M6K 3C3
   Volunteer Shift Time: 4:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. (approximately)
   # of Volunteers: 6-8 volunteers  
   Activity: Assisting in collecting food from vendors, moving food to loading dock, helping build pallets for transporting the food back to Second Harvest.
