Let's chat

You're in good company.

Food is at the heart of everything we do at Shake Shack, and that comes with a responsibility, not just to make great food, but to make sure good food doesn't go to waste. When we were planning our launch in Canada, partnering with an organization doing real, tangible work in food rescue felt like a natural extension of our mission to Stand For Something Good. Second Harvest's focus on redirecting surplus food to communities that need it aligned exactly with the kind of impact we wanted to make as we became part of the Toronto community, not just opening a restaurant, but showing up as a neighbour from day one.
Our Community Giving program is called First National Cares, all of our community work falls under this umbrella.

When we were looking for an organization to partner after the launch of the program, we wanted one that aligned with our goals of fostering a sense of community regionally and providing an opportunity for our team members to participate in a giving experience.  We also wanted to focus on our strategy of preserving the environment and supporting our next generation. It was also important to partner with an organization that was national in scope so that our offices across the country could participate.

Second Harvest ticked all these boxes for us.
Our organization was initially inspired to partner with Second Harvest because we believe that no good food should go to waste when there are people in our communities who need it. Giving back and supporting our communities has always been an important part of Osmow’s values.
